Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. As a young girl of just five when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma chose to be an actor by the age of six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing as well as dancing, and also acting. The actress had performed in a variety of Stagecoach or school shows before she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were cast as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001, the film set records for its debut day revenue as well as opening weekend takings. Reviewers were awed by the movie and its performances. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Later Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film, winning her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in the feature Film.
