Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri dixit is a popular Indian actress best recognized for her roles in the films Beta Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. Her first fame was her role in Tezaab from the 1980s where she co-starred along with an established actor Anil Koopor. Then she appeared in the film Dil In which she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. She was born into the Mumbai middle-class family and began to dance at a young age. As a teen, she tried her hand at acting, however most of her early movies did not succeed. Her fame grew and she became one of India's top movie actresses. After her wedding ceremony, she took a brief break from her acting career until she returned. In the past, she was an integral part in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women in India. Dixit received fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which she took home eight. Padma Shri was awarded to her, which is India's fourth highest civil honor. The award was also given to her by the field of social work.
